Gal Ben Moshe

My journey, on your plate

Gal Ben Moshe, a Tel Aviv native, is a Michelin-starred chef renowned for his innovative take on contemporary Levantine cuisine. His culinary journey began at 15, driven by necessity after his parents’ divorce, leading him to refine his craft in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, including Maze in London under Jason Atherton, Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley, Hibiscus, and Alinea in Chicago under Grant Achatz. These experiences shaped his precision, creativity, and passion for blending global techniques with the vibrant flavors of his Middle Eastern heritage. In 2012, Gal arrived in Berlin, drawn to its dynamic culinary scene, and opened GLASS, celebrated for its modern Levantine fine dining. He later launched Prism in Charlottenburg, earning a Michelin star in 2020 and retaining it for five consecutive years. At Prism, alongside his sommelier partner Jacqueline Lorenz, Gal creates intimate, theatrical dining experiences for 18–24 guests, featuring dishes like roasted scallops with Mediterranean dashi and grilled white grouper with shio koji, rooted in live-fire cooking and his coastal upbringing. His menus weave the smoky, historic flavors of the Levant with European refinement, crafting a narrative of memory and innovation. Beyond Prism, Gal’s influence extends to Tel Aviv’s Pastel and Dubai’s culinary scene. Named among Germany’s top 100 chefs and ranked 58th by 100 Best Chefs Germany, Gal’s cuisine challenges tradition, embracing a globalized palate while staying true to his roots. His relentless pursuit of excellence and storytelling through food has made him a trailblazer in Berlin’s gastronomic landscape, captivating diners with every plate.
